The fantastic driver-quality E39 M5 available here, chassis #WBSDE93452CF91090, is finished in Carbon Black with a two-tone grey black interior with grey inserts. It has just 58,000 miles and presents in exceptional driver quality condition with plenty of documentation.
Originally delivered to Park Ave BMW of New Jersey in January of 2002, the first owner enjoyed this M5 for roughly 2 years, and 5,100 miles. The car was sold to its second owner in December of 2003, where it remained in New Jersey receiving servicing by Prestige BMW. After another short stint, the car would reach its next owner in 2005, this time across the country in California. This owner would go on to put the bulk of the miles on this car, buying it at 11,000 and eventually reaching 50,000 miles. During their ownership they serviced the car frequently at Santa Barbara Auto Group. We have receipts from this period totalling over $4,000 dollars on various services such as an engine service, valve cover replacement, camshaft sensors, drive belt replacement, fresh tires, and more.
In 2018 the car was acquired by BMW specialists Enthusiast Auto Group, based out of Cincinnati, Ohio where they gave this M5 their full reconditioning treatment to the tune of $18,114. Full receipts for the servicing are available in the listing. Some of the highlights include replacement of brakes front and rear, 10 year S62 engine service and inspection, engine mounts, sway bars and bushings, factory wheel refurbishment and a comprehensive detail job. This M5’s 6th and final owner before the consignor purchased the car post reconditioning and enjoyed it for another 15,000 miles in sunny Florida where Eurotech Motorsports handled basic servicing as well as a few more items they felt needed replacing. Roughly $11,000 was spent maintaining the car to a high standard including a new thermostat with new sensors, fender liner replacement, resealed windshield and cowl replacement, and some tasteful Dinan goodies like a carbon intake system and exhaust.
Today, this Carbon Black E39 presents far better than the miles would suggest. It is easily one of the nicest driver M5s we have come across and with over $30,000 in relatively recent refurbishments we are confident in its ability to provide the next owner with many more miles of enjoyment. Oftentimes, E39 M5s fell victim to careless owners or low quality mods however this example benefits from period-correct tasteful modifications by Dinan and well documented history from original delivery to present day making it an outlier in the marketplace. In preparation for this sale we replaced the headlight lenses with Factory BMW lenses with European sidemarkers as well as a general detail.
Included in the sale of this M5 is the trunk mounted tool kit, original factory exhaust set up, 2 keys, books and manuals, a clean CARFAX, and a stack of service records.
