The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 was a variant of the F10 5 Series that was introduced for the 2011 model year. The ActiveHybrid 5 was only built in a sedan body style, and was powered by a 302hp turbocharged 3.0L inline six engine that is paired to a 54hp electric motor. This hybrid drivetrain sent power to the rear wheels through an 8 speed automatic transmission. Production of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5 lasted until 2016.
