The Ford F-150 Lightning is a series of fully electric trucks based on the Fourteenth Generation F-Series pickups that debuted for the 2022 model year. The Lightning mirrors the F-Series trims, including Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum, starting at $40,000 and extending to $90,000, respectively. The exterior is based on the aluminum, four-door, Supercrew F-150 except for full-width LED front and rear running lights and a flush grill. Depending on trim, the interior ranges from vinyl flooring to luxury amenities, including perforated leather seats and a 14" Ford SYNC touchscreen. All models feature independent, active rear suspension providing real-time load weighing adjustability. The base configuration has 452 hp (337 kW), 230-mile range, while the range-topping configuration features 580 hp (430 kW), 300 miles, and a towing capacity of 10,000 lb. All models have 775 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the wheels via full-time 4WD. The F-150 Lightning is the first electric pickup to arrive to consumers by a "big three" automaker and is produced at Ford's Ford River Rouge Complex in Dearborn, Michigan.
