The Karmann Ghia was a car built by Volkswagen. Styled by the famous Ghia Italian design house, the Karmann Ghia was available initially as a coupe, and then a convertible. First sold for the 1956 model year, the Karmann Ghia would see two main variants produced over the course of its life: the Type 14 (1956-1974), which was the more common variant, and the much rarer Type 34 (1961-1969). An exclusive South American creation built by Volkswagen of Brazil was the Giorgetto Guigiaro designed TC (Touring Coupe), which was built until 1975.
