The Talbot Sunbeam, or Chrysler Sunbeam, was the product of Chrysler Europe, which existed in the late 1970s until being turned over to PSA Peugeot Citroën. The Sunbeam was a small two-door hatchback car with rear-wheel-drive and resembled the VW Golf. Its power was derived from a four-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The Sunbeam came in three trims, the LS, GL, and S. A performance version of the Sunbeam, called the Ti, was produced. Talbot even commissioned Lotus to build a Rally version of the car called the Sunbeam-Lotus, featuring an entirely different engine from Lotus that produced 150hp. The Sunbeam ended production in 1981, the same year the car won a World Rally Constructors Championship.
