In 2015, at the Detroit Auto Show, Ford announced the second generation of their supercar the GT. Powered by a 647-Horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine mated to a seven-speed DCT and helped the GT achieve a 0-60 of 2.8 second and a top speed of 216 mph in its “V-Max” drive mode.

The second-generation GT program was spearheaded by Raj Nair, Ford’s Executive Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technical Officer. Nair and a team of Dearborn enthusiasts developed the road-going GT with the goal of using it for homologation purposes - allowing Ford to race the car in the GTE class.

In 2016, the new GT made its competition debut with the Chip Ganassi Racing team, finishing in a respectable 7th and 9th in its class at the Daytona 24 Hours. The true test would come at Le Mans, where the GT was set to repeat history. On June 19, 2016, the #68 Ford Chip Ganassi GT claimed victory in the GTE-Pro class, mirroring the 1-2-3 podium sweep of the legendary Ford GT40 exactly 50 years prior. Ford’s successful return to Le Mans sparked huge demand for its road-going counterpart.

The GT on offer here, chassis #2FAGP9EW9NH200105 is one of only 30 ‘Alan Mann Heritage Edition’ examples produced. The unique graphics and color scheme - Mann Red with Mann Gold and Oxford White strips which harken back to Alan Mann Racing’s 1966 Ford GT40 Lightweight prototypes which played a pivotal role in developing the GT40. All 30 feature the iconic #16 graphics on the doors, door cards, hood, and under the active rear wing.

This limited-edition GT features extensive exposed carbon fiber components such as the wheels, front splitter, side sills, mirrors, engine louvers, and rear diffuser. The carbon fiber theme continues into the cabin with a full carbon fiber dashboard and center stack surrounds and door cards. The alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with shift lights is flanked by two red aluminum shift paddles which completes this race-inspired interior.

With just 15 miles from new and all factory protective elements still in place, this GT is in pristine condition. This GT comes complete with comprehensive documentation, including photos of the car’s production, paint swatches, window sticker, and delivery paperwork. Given the GT’s limited production and Ford’s closely guarded order process, this Alan Mann Heritage Edition offers a truly unique opportunity to obtain a brand new Ford GT in one of its rarest specifications.
