The Ford GTX1 was a roadster version of the First Generation Ford GT. The GTX1 was created as a show car for the 2005 SEMA show, but eventually garnered enough to demand to be produced in limited numbers. This production was done by Gennadi Design Group, who modified the GT in order to create a working and well-executed roadster. These cars were given Ford's blessing, and featured a factory warranty. In addition to the removal of the roof, the GTX1 featured a custom interior, race seats, and improved brakes. Between 40 and 50 examples of the Ford GTX1 are believed to have been built before production ended in 2006.
