This 1989 GMC S-15 Sierra pickup has classic GMC lines and standard features representing the peak of the compact pickup market in the 1980s. This S-15 left the factory in a Special Two-Tone Woodlands Brown Metallic and white color scheme, and it features sporty Rally wheels and custom vinyl seats in Saddle Tan. Powered by an efficient fuel-injected 4-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual transmission, this rear wheel drive example shows 141,720 miles on the odometer.

GMC boasted plenty of options for their compact trucks in 89, and even this entry-level Sierra came standard with features including power rear anti-lock brakes, a painted front bumper, a full bench seat, and a heater and defroster. The six-foot bed's double-wall construction, carbon steel frame, and black embossed rubber floor ensured it could handle work like its bigger Sierra siblings. Rally wheels were added as an option and aftermarket modifications including a high-rise bed cap and tonneau cover give the owner options to suit their taste and functionality requirements.

This truck was delivered to its first owner in 1989 in Michigan and has always been maintained and cared for close to home. Light restoration began in 2010 when the current (third) owner acquired the vehicle to ensure the body and mechanics remained in good working order. About the Model

The first generation of GMC S-15 / Sonoma was introduced for the 1982 model year. Initially launched as the S-15, this new model of compact trucks was an upmarket version of the Chevrolet S-10. In 1991, the S-15 was renamed as the Sonoma. The first generation S-15 / Sonoma featured a selection of inline-four or V6 engines and was in production until 1993 when the Second Generation GMC Sonoma was unveiled.
