This 1957 Porsche 356A 1600 Speedster, originally finished in white, has been meticulously restored and now boasts a stunning Schwarz black exterior. The restoration process has preserved the car’s original elegance, while also introducing subtle changes that enhance its overall performance and character.

The bodywork was carefully restored, with every panel realigned to ensure the iconic curves and proportions of the 356A remain intact. The black paintwork now gleams with a deep, glossy finish, reflecting the car's timeless design paired elegantly with original SWF markers and tail light cones, polished trim and a 1600 super badge adorned to the rear end pointing to the increased power under the hood. (Please note, this example is not an original super, per the Porsche Specifications Certificate)

Under the hood, the car now houses the engine from a Porsche 912, a significant change that boosts the Speedster’s performance while retaining the classic driving experience. The 912 engine retains the 1.6L displacement while bumping power from 60hp to 90hp providing a more spirited driving experience. This upgraded powertrain delivers a smooth, responsive drive paired with its factory 4 speed manual transmission enhancing the already agile handling the 356A is renowned for.

Inside, the cabin has been carefully restored to reflect the car’s original interior. The lightweight seats are reupholstered in high-quality leather with tan piping, and the dashboard has been refinished to its factory specifications. The minimalist, vintage design of the cockpit ensures the driving experience remains true to the spirit of the 356A.

This 1957 Porsche 356A 1600 Speedster is a true blend of classic Porsche design and performance. The odometer reads just under 1,000 miles that is believed to have been reset at the time of restoration.

Ryans Note - I have had the pleasure of driving this car through city streets and winding roads and can personally confirm how special it feels to be behind the wheel of this vehicle. Nothing is done for you, you have to lean forward to accurately pursue the gear you want to be in while managing your throttle on down shifts. A real drivers car, certainly not for those new to vintage manual cars. This car has a personality you can feel as the wind pushes through your hair and it takes time to truly get acquainted but once you do... it will be hard to not look its way on a 70 degree sunny day.
