The Vauxhall Chevette was an attempt by the company to break into the 'super-mini' class. The new parent company from across the pond, GM, would also sell the car under the Chevrolet Chevette badge but with slightly different styling. It was also manufactured as the Holden Gemini, Izuzu Gemini, and Opel Kadett. The super-mini car was produced by Vauxhall as a two-door coupe, two-door sedan, and two-door wagon. A rear-wheel-drive inline four-cylinder engine powered the tiny vehicle. Production ended in 1984, and the Chevette was succeeded by the Vauxhall Astra.
