Debuting for the 1976 model year, the Vauxhall Cavalier was a versatile model for the company. It was built in three generations over three decades: MKI (1976-81), MKII (1981-88), and MKIII (1988-95). Along the way, the Cavalier offered its customers rear-wheel drive and then, by 1981, front-wheel drive and AWD during its last iteration. The car was commonly powered by various inline four-cylinder engines and was offered in a coupe, sedan, wagon, or convertible body style. Production of the popular car lasted until 1995 when it was replaced by the Vauxhall Vectra.
