The Renault Type AX was a series of compact cars introduced in 1908. The Type AX was also known as the 8CV due to its eight taxable horsepower. Renault produced the Type AX in phaeton, roadster, sedan, coupe, landaulet, tonneau, panel van, and pickup body styles. The Type AX was powered by a two cylinder engine, that was initially 1.1L, but grew to 1.2L over the course of production.
