The Renault 40CV was a family of full size luxury cars that were introduced in 1911. The 40CV was known as the Model 45 for export markets, and was available in tourer, cabriolet, and limousine body styles. Over the course of its production, the 40CV was offered in many variants which were designated by a two-letter code (Ex: Type EF, Type NM, Type HF, Type CG). These letter codes were used to differentiate between regular updates to the model. Initially, the 40CV was fitted with a 7.5L inline six engine, but in 1920, a 9.1L inline six was used. Production of the Renault 40CV lasted until 1928.
