The Plymouth Volaré is the counterpart to the Dodge branded Aspen model. They were the successors to the A-body — Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant and Plymouth Duster, which concurrently were sold along with Aspen and Volaré during the early part of the 1976 model year until A-body models were discontinued. Volaré is spanish for "I will fly away". The name Plymouth Road Runner was used by the Volaré as a trim level.
