The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was a series of performance focused sedans introduced in 1992. Also commonly known as the 'Evo,' The Lancer Evolution was originally introduced for the Japanese market, but demand eventually forced the model worldwide. The Evo was created to give Mitsubishi a strong platform to create rally cars for the World Rally Championship, as such it saw frequent use as a Race Car. All variants featured four wheel drive and were powered by a turbocharged 2.0L inline four engine. The Evolution was built in ten versions, designated by Roman numerals: Evolution I, Evolution II, Evolution III, Evolution IV, Evolution V, Evolution VI, Evolution VII, Evolution VIII, Evolution IX, and Evolution X. Mitsubishi discontinued the Lancer Evolution in 2016.
