The Mini Moke was a series of small recreational vehicles based on the Classic Mini that were introduced to the public in 1964. The Moke, which was an old word for mule, was originally intended for military use, but ended up being sold as a light offroad vehicle, marketed at recreational and farm use. The Moke was a front wheel vehicle powered by an inline four engine available in four displacements (As Mini ownership shifted through the years, the Mini Moke was built under various brands such as British Leyland, Austin, and Morris. In 1990 Rover sold the rights to the Moke to Cagiva, who built the Moke until 1994. In recent years, the Moke has been reborn as an all electric vehicle.
