The E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY was powered by Mercedes' OM642 DE30 engine, which was a 228hp 3.0L turbo V6. This engine was replaced during the 2011 model year by the OM642 LS DE30 LA, which was a new, more efficient V6 that had an output of 261hp. It was paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission that sent power to the rear wheels.
