The Mercedes-Benz E550 4MATIC was an all wheel drive variant of the W212 Sedan that debuted for the 2010 model year. The E 550 4MATIC sedan was sold under the E500 4MATIC name outside of North America, and was based on the W212 E550. These cars were initially powered by Mercedes' M273 E55 engine, which was 382hp 5.5L V8. From the 2012 model year, Mercedes used their M278 DE46 engine, which was a 402hp twin-turbocharged 4.7L V8. Both engines were paired to a 7 speed automatic transmission that sent drive to all four wheels. Production of the W212 Mercedes-Benz E550 4MATIC ended in 2016.
