The Mercedes-Benz E320 was a variant of the A124 Cabriolet that was introduced for the 1993 model year. For the first model year of production (1993), the E320 convertible was sold as the 300CE in the North American market (320CE in Europe). This family of open top cars was powered by Mercedes' M104.992 engine, which was a 3.2L inline six that generated 220hp and 229 lb ft of torque. This power was sent to the rear wheels via manual and automatic transmission options. The A124 Mercedes-Benz E320 was built until 1997, with a total of 12,229 examples built. At the end of production of the A124 E-Class Convertibles, Mercedes introduced the CLK-Class, which was the new name used for E-Class based coupes and convertibles.
