The Mercedes-Benz 220E was a variant of the W124 Sedan that debuted for the 1992 model year. The 220E was powered Mercedes' M111.960 engine, which was a 2.2L inline four that generated 150hp and 155 lb ft of torque. This power was sent to the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic transmission. For the 1994 model year, Mercedes changed their naming system, so the 220E became the E220.
