The Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI was a diesel-powered variant of the W202 C-Class that was introduced for the 1999 model year. The C 220 CDI was powered by Mercedes' OM611 DE22 LA which was a 2.1L turbocharged diesel engine DOHC 16V I4 that produced 123hp and 220 lbf⋅ft of torque. Power was sent to the rear wheels via manual or automatic transmission options. Production of the W202 C220 CDI lasted until 2000, although the model series would continue in the next generation W203 C-Class.
