The Mazda RX-7 Type R Bathurst is a limited production series of cars for the RX-7 FD generation that was only available in Japan. Based on the performance focused Type R variant, this series of cars was given the additional Bathurst name to commemorate the famed Bathurst 12-hour car race in Australia, where the RX-7 was victorious for three consecutive years (1992 through 1994). Grouped here for simplicity, the Type R Bathurst existed in multiple iterations depending on the model year, which included the Type R II Bathurst, Type R Bathurst, Type R Bathurst X, Type RB Bathurst X, and Type R Bathurst R.
