After Hudson's merger with Nash in 1954, the newly formed American Motors Corporation (AMC), continued to produce cars under the Hudson badge until 1957. The Hudson Metropolitan was a rebadged version of the Nash Metropolitan, and was offered as a compact hardtop or convertible. A 1.2L or 1.5L inline four engine was fitted to the Hudson Metropolitan, which was produced under the Nash and Hudson names until 1957. AMC continued to produce the Metropolitan as its own make until 1961.
