The Ford Prefect was a series of cars introduced for 1939 by Ford UK. The Prefect was the top compact model offered by Ford UK, and was offered in a range of body styles over its production including saloon, tourer, convertible, and van. For the majority of its lifespan, the Prefect was fitted with a 1172cc inline four engine, except for its final two years, when a 1.0L inline four was used. Ford UK built the Prefect until 1961.
