The ninth generation of Chevrolet Suburban was introduced for the 2000 model year. The ninth generation Suburban was built on the GMT800 platform, which it shared with the Chevrolet Silverado. This new evolution of Suburban featured updated styling as well as a raft of new components and improvements. All wheel drive and rear wheel drive versions were offered, as well as Base, LS, and LT trim levels. The ninth generation Suburban was powered by a range of V8 engines, and was produced until 2006, when it was replaced by the Tenth Generation Chevrolet Suburban.
