The Bugatti Type 46 was a series of touring cars that were introduced in 1929. The Type 46 was offered in cabriolet, coupe, and saloon body styles, and was powered by a 5.3L inline eight engine that had an output of 140hp. As well as the naturally aspirated inline eight engine, Bugatti also offered the Type 46S, which featured an additional supercharger which saw output increase to 160hp. An estimated 400 examples of the Type 46 were built, as well as 18 examples of the supercharged Type 46S before the end of production in 1936.
