The BMW 730i was a variant of the E32 7 Series that debuted for the 1987 model year. The 730i was only available in a sedan body style, and was initially powered by BMW's M30B30 inline six engine. For the 1993 model year, this engine was replaced by the M60B30 V8. These cars were available with manual or automatic transmissions that sent drive to the rear wheels. Production of the E32 BMW 730i lasted until 1994, but the model series continued life in the next generation of BMW 7 Series as the E38 BMW 730i.
