The Austin FX3 was a series of cars introduced in 1947. The FX3 was created for use a taxicab, and was built with a range of features that made it well suited for the task, like its notable turn radius. These cars were initially powered by a 2.2L inline four engine, although this engine would lose favor to a range of diesel engine options. Austin also created a Hire Car version known as the FL1. Production of the Austin FX3 lasted until 1958, when the model was replaced by the Austin FX4.
