The Austin A40 Devon was a series of cars introduced in 1947. The Devon was the first Austin model to feature the A40 name, and it was offered as a four door saloon, or rare van, powered by a 1.2L inline four engine. This 40hp engine sent drive to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual transmission. Production of the A40 Devon Sedan lasted until 1952, when Austin replaced it with the A40 Somerset, but the Devon van was built until 1956
