This rare 2006 Mini Cooper JCW GP is #1278 of 2,000 John Cooper Works GP vehicles produced in 2006. Only 415 were allocated to the US and featured a factory tuning kit with performance and weight-saving modifications. Power is sourced from a 1.6L supercharged 4-cylinder engine and directed to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Like all GPs this example stands out among other Mini Coopers with Thunder Blue Metallic paint, red mirror caps, black rear spoiler, and GP aero kit and decals. Underneath that distinctive exterior, the tuning kit is backed by JCW independent front and rear suspension, lightweight alloy wheels and a rear seat delete, making this a two-seat performance hatchback. Number 1278 is a two-owner, California car with just 55,904 miles on the odometer. This car was also optioned with air conditioning and a stereo/CD player. The seller purchased it in 2007 from the original owner, collector, and neighbor and drove it regularly. The car is located in Solvang, California.
This car has been photographed and inspected by a third party to document the vehicles condition. Overall, it is found to be in good condition with minor scratches, chips, and a door ding behind the drivers door. Similarly, the interior is clean with minimal wear to the leather inserts, all consistent with the vehicle's age and mileage. A road test indicated that all mechanical features of the vehicle operate smoothly and as designed. The CarFax report confirms a clean two-owner history and documentation of mileage. The sale includes two sets of keys, a valet key, and a Mini-specific sunscreen.
This Mini is being sold as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM and is located in Solvang, CA.
