2005 Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Cabriolet. Three owners since new, the auto is believed to be originally a factory lease from Palm Beach County, Florida. Second owner was mature female realtor from SE Georgia. No evidence of past accidents. This car is a far better than average example of a used CLK 320, however I will attempt to point out all discrepancies/wear on the vehicle as it sits today, please see them for what they are, a thorough inspection for your consideration. Body is free from dents and rust (undercarriage is rust free with NO fluid leaks). Always garaged, paint/shine like new overall 9/10, ceramic coating applied in 2023. There are 2 door dings on the body that are so slight they do not show up on camera. Paint has one scratch that looks as if an attempt was made to buff it out (drivers rear wheel arch). It is unnoticeable and you have to look for it.
Have all service records from previous owner to present. Maintenance records of first owner not in Mercedes Benz database (?). All services performed by MB service, last “A” service completed less than 6 months and under 1K miles ago. Car received a clean bill of health with zero issues from MB (included in documents). Tires 8/10, slight (small) curb rash on two wheels. The car starts, runs and drives flawlessly. The transmission shifts as smooth as new. Two key fobs are included with the sale.
Top material in very good shape 7/10. Very minimal fading. There is small evidence of a past seam repair to the top (slightly visible adhesive). A water bag (mounts to underside of top by rear window) has come loose from its bottom attachment mount. that bag will peek out next to the window when closing the top after use, I just tuck it back after closing the top, the car is garaged with the top in closed position. Convertible top has never showed signs of leakage. All top hydraulic cylinders were replaced and pump flushed and filled in 2022 (1,400.00 for parts only). Hydraulic pump is in good shape and top opens and closes as it should. Interior headliner of convertible top looks as new.
Rear seat factory wind screen/bag and high quality car cover included. Interior condition is a 9/10 minimal wear on drivers seat outside bolster, leather looks and smells as a leather interior should. Back seats look as if they’ve never had a passenger, factory subwoofer in rear seats. The A/C system blows cold.
Dash is perfect and all gauges function as they should including clock. Steering wheel controls and drivers information system work as they should. All windows/switches and locks operate as they should. The original owner never removed the protective film from the radio screen face, (heat cooked it on) there is some unsightly residue of that film that cannot be removed, the factory radio and cd player works as it should and the display is clear and easily readable, the car has a factory 6 discs CD changer in the glove compartment (don’t know the condition as I always used a temporary Bluetooth adapter to use my phone music, not included). Factory tool kit in trunk. A custom quilted full floor liner was installed after my purchase, carpet underneath is in good condition with minimal wear but has never been shampooed.
This car has been a very fun/comfortable/quick and very reliable auto with no hesitations/rattles/squeaks/smells/etc. (it has been my weekend car and in three years of ownership it has accumulated less than 4K miles), Anyone can find minor areas of normal wear and tear on this auto if they search hard enough but the vehicle is 19 years old, however the condition of this car shows that it has been exceptionally maintained and cared for and I would say that it is a solid 8/10 compared to any other 2005 CLK320 Cabrio. I solidly believe that if the maintenance and care this car has received so far is continued, there is no doubt the vehicle will perform the same for the next 19 years and 71,000 miles.
