Details
This 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 Collectors Edition is painted in Moonglow Pearl and Gray paint over a taupe leather seating for seven. After being acquired by the seller in 2023, it underwent a mechanical refurbishment and received off-road modifications by Endless Offroad Solutions in Schertz, Texas.
The Land Cruiser is powered by a 4.5L inline-six-cylinder engine and 4-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels and features a center locking differential. It has 187,800 miles, most of which were added by one owner between 2001 and 2023. Factory equipment includes automatic air conditioning, leather power sport seats and leather steering wheel, sunroof, and premium audio. Body side moldings, Collector’s Edition badging, and floor mats complete the package. Recent modifications include a new Old Man Emu 2 ½ inch suspension lift, a new ARB front bumper with a 9K Warn winch, 16-inch aluminum Nomad wheels with new 33-inch BF Goodrich mud terrain tires, and WeatherTech floor mats.
Beyond the recently installed modifications, new front brakes and rotors were added in 2019 (approximately 5K miles ago) and recent service includes replacing the cylinder head gasket and battery, and servicing the front axle knuckles, making this Land Cruiser ready for its next adventure.
This Land Cruiser comes with a clean CarFax report that indicates first ownership in New York, followed by more than 23 years of care by the second owner in Virginia. The current owner purchased the vehicle following a Bring a Trailer auction with the intention of addressing any needed maintenance and service needs, in addition to the off-road modifications.
This Land Cruiser is now available in Texas as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM and is being offered by Cody Warner at Endless Offroad Solutions.
About the Model
The Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 was the successor to the FJ80 in the 80 Series gas-powered lineup. While the body and features remained largely similar, the FZJ80 was powered by Toyota's new 4.5L, 24-valve, 1FZ-FE engine, capable of producing 190 to 240 horsepower depending on its configuration. Production of the FZJ80 ended in Japan in 1997. For that year, two special edition variants were introduced: the Collectors Edition, a package available in most colors, and the 40th Anniversary Limited Edition, of which 4,744 were made in Antique Sage Pearl or Emerald Green colors. It's worth noting that the 80 series Land Cruiser production would continue in Venezuela, limited to regional sales, until 2008. In America and other markets, the FZJ80 was replaced by the 100 Series Land Cruiser, for model year 1998.
