This Lexus LX 450 made its way from Hawaii to its current location in Scottsdale, Arizona. The owner spent a year looking for such a well-sorted example of this model. The benefits of its current location and point of origin are evident in the vehicle s rust-free body. All mechanical work was completed by Desert Toy Shop in Mesa, AZ, and State Automotive in Salt Lake City, UT. The owner also states that the much-loved iron-block 4.5L inline-six-cylinder engine has been rebuilt despite the car having just over 100K miles. This overlander sits on a 2.5-inch Old Man Emu lift and new BF Goodrich KO2 tires. In addition, the suspension bushings have been replaced, and the steering box was also rebuilt along with replacing the wheel bearings. Service records of the mechanical commissioning are available from the owner.
A respray of the Cashmere Beige body was applied to the exterior by Legend 4x4 of Salt Lake City. The inspection report lists a few small chips and a few scratches on the body and body pillars, but overall, the car is a 4 out of 5. Inside the luxury off-roader, new leather was added to the shifter, steering wheel, console, front door arm cushions, and front seats, as passengers are treated to beige leather and wood-trimmed accents. A new aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth has been installed, and the original is included in the purchase. Despite being well cared for, some wear is still present on the interior seats and carpets, but the interior is listed by the inspector as a 3.9 out of 5. Weather Tech floor mats have been installed by the owner.
About the Model
Lexus capitalized on the new era of luxury SUVs with the LX 450. The first generation only lasted from 1996 to 1997, and the SUV carried the same reliability reputation as its sibling, the Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80. The LX is a luxury version of the FZ and comes with a full-time four-wheel drive system and an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. Leather, power locks, a premium sound system, automatic climate control, and an optional moonroof made the LX a more posh option than the J80. In its initial generation about 14,000 units were produced.
