About this 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (C4)

VIN: WP0ZZZ96ZLS404553

This Porsche 964 is represented by Accelerate Motor Works in Miami, FL.

The Porsche 964 version of the 911 was introduced in 1989 as an all wheel drive variant, the first of its kind for Porsche. While the new Porsche appeared unmistakably like a 911, according to Porsche, the new car was 85 percent different to the previous G series model. Designed by Benjamin Dimson, the 964 featured improved aerodynamics with an integrated front bumper, flat floor panels, and a retractable rear spoiler. All of those improvements dramatically reduced the drag coefficient of the 964 Carrera over the previous G-series predecessor.

A revised interior now offered a full length leather console and height adjustable leather seats. The revised instruments also housed a large set of warning lights that were tied into the car’s central warning system. The more modern design also introduced variable-assist power steering, a more efficient air conditioning system, and anti-lock brakes with larger calipers for improved safety.

The naturally aspirated flat-six engine was punched out to 3.6 liters and power increased to 247 horsepower.  Torque delivery was steady and the 964 series was said to be noticeably more predictable than the 930.

During the 964 production run, 63,672 cars were produced according to Porsche. This would make the 964 the rarest version of the 911 ever made.
