This right-hand-drive Japanese domestic market 1988 Diesel HJ61 high-roof Toyota Land Cruiser is powered by a 4.0 liter 6-cylinder 12H-T turbo diesel engine that drives power to all four or just the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The truck has standard features that include part-time 4WD, power windows and door locks, air conditioning and an overhead console. Past modifications include raising the suspension to accommodate 32-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires mounted on 15-inch black-painted steel wheels and refinishing the exterior in matte green bed liner paint from its original Beige Metallic. The interior is complemented by gray cloth and brown trim surfaces. The vehicle has been titled with the current owner in Nevada since 2019 and currently shows 361,905 km (224,877 original miles) on the odometer.
The third-party photos show a truck that has received modest off-road modification to give it a unique look. A recent inspection of the vehicle shows a host of external cosmetic flaws that are largely related to the repaint that is now chipping and fading in areas. Weather seals were not replaced at the time of the repaint and do show some wear and tear. The interior appears to be unrestored. The driver’s seat bottom cushion is missing and wear is seen throughout the cabin including cracks in the dashboard and door trim and an inoperable air conditioner. Mechanically, the vehicle operated and handled as it was designed during the test drive. Evidence of past oil seepage was found on the underside of the truck, but no active drips were detected. This should be monitored by the new owner. One key is included in the sale.
This Toyota Land Cruiser is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in Henderson, NV.
