This 1988 Ferrari 412 chassis #75417 has a rich history of ownership beginning with Whitney Houston and including Will Arnett between 2018-2022. This Pininfarina-designed 2x2 coupe is one of 93 produced in 1988 and is powered by a 4.9L V12 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission sending 340 HP to the rear wheels. The metallic Blu Ribot paint is complemented by a light Crema leather interior and blue carpets. This well-equipped Ferrari came from the factory with optional dual-zone climate control and has undergone recent servicing and a full dry ice cleaning of the undercarriage, wheel wells, and engine. A VIN typo has resulted in two CarFax reports documenting vehicle history between 1993 and 2022 in Florida, Texas, and California. Regular service is noted and no accidents or mileage inconsistencies are reported. The seller acquired the vehicle in 2022 and it is currently located in California.
Detailed third-party photos and inspection show a well-kept, low-mileage vehicle that has received a recent mechanical refresh to return it to its original condition. The blue paint is in excellent condition and similarly, the interior is well-preserved and reflects the low number of miles. A road test and documented driving videos confirm the car's engine, transmission and features function as they were originally designed. With great attention to detail, this limited-production Ferrari is ready for its next owner to be counted among past notables. The sale includes the original Ferrari tool kit and one set of keys.
This Ferrari 412 is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in West Hills, CA.
About the model
The Ferrari 412 - Automatic (a/k/a 412 A) was part of the final iteration of a series of V12 2+2 grand tourers, including the 365 GT4 2+2, the Ferrari 400, and the 400i. Made between 1986 and 1989, it was the beneficiary of various improvements achieved during its previous iterations. Although it inherited the fuel-injected V12 from its predecessor, displacement increased to 4.9 liters (compared to 4.8 liters) with a bump in power to 335 HP. This power was sent to the rear wheels through a GM THM400 3-speed automatic transmission. Ferrari produced a total of 576 samples of the Ferrari 412, out of which 306 were automatic and the rest were Ferrari 412 Manual. Production ended in 1989 without a direct successor, until the arrival of the Ferrari 456 in 1994.
