About the model

As a follow-up to the 280ZX, the Z31-chassis 300ZX appeared in 1984, presenting a significant change to the Z formula, with a three-liter V6 rather than the previous inline-six powerplants. A more angular design, with partially hidden retractable headlamps, greeted sports cars and luxury GT fans alike. The 1984 model year wore both Datsun and Nissan badges on the decklid as Nissan was transitioning away from the older Datsun brand name. A Turbocharged Variant was optional for all years. British kit car manufacturer Spartan also chose the 300ZX as a platform for their highly customized body kits.
