About this 1986 Ford Mustang GT

VIN: 1FABP28M7GF248878

1986 Modified Ford Mustang GT

According to the Marti Report, This 86 Mustang GT was built in Dearbord, MI with a DSO of Cincinnati, OH and was sold out of Stengers Ford in Dayton, OH. It is believed that the first owner drove her until she was sold to a fellow in NY in 2010, with close to 130,000 miles on her. He dove in and installed a 331 Stroker engine, Tremac 5 speed, frame connectors, rear disc brakes, On 3 Performance turbo, new 4 links, new coils and struts and had the car painted in her original Regatta Blue. The interior, in very nice shape, was kept as is. He drove her for a bit and just last year, the current owner purchased her with 135,000 miles (on the car, only about 5000 on the engine) and brought her to CT.

After driving a short bit, he heard some odd noises from the engine and ended up tearing down the entire engine and having it rebuilt by Command Performance and Prolific Performance for the tuning. The turbo was kept as were the TFS aluminum heads with 2.02 and 1.60 valves and all the Trick Flow intake bits. An aluminum radiator was installed and a custom 3" stainless exhaust system. New Mickey Thompson ET Streets (275/40/17) were wrapped around chrome SVE wheels. A short throw shifter was also installed on the Tremac.

The rear diff, from an 87 Turbo T-Bird, was attended to with 3.55 gears and a traction lok and front brakes were upgraded to Aerospace Components 4 piston calipers and slotted rotors.

This car hooks up and rips. Dyno paperwork shows roughly 470 HP and over 500 lb ft of torque.

Less than 1000 miles have been put on the car since the rebuild.

From the factory, this light Regatta Blue GT came with the 5.0L V8, 5 speed OD manual trans, trac-lok, power windows, power steering, power brakes, power door locks, glass T-Tops, hatchback, cruise control, rear winder defogger, AC, tinted glass, light group, power group and premium sound system. Most of those are still there and what is left, still works as it should. The fog lights are fickle, flickering but mostly not functioning, the light on the switch, the same.

The respray several years ago was pretty good, she shines very nicely and the blue looks great with the dark charcoal stripes/graphics. There are some minor chips pointed out in the photos through the paint.

The interior, grey sport seats with red piping, and manual adjustments, is in very nice condition. No tears on the seats, no dash cracks, door cards in very nice condition. The head liner is a little saggy but not that noticeable. A Momo steering wheel was installed, AutoMeter gauges and a USB multi port. A Pioneer head unit send the tunes out through what is believed the original speakers.

The owner originally had plans to use her as a fun street car, maybe do some track time and just general cruise nights and local shows. He did take a trophy at a local show earlier this year. However, with some plans changing and a desire to buy his own house, it's been decided the car will go so he can have a down payment.

If you want a rip snorting Fox body, that is comfy and looks good, this car needs nothing. It will make you smile every time you hear that waste gate pop. She is ready to hop i and drive and enjoy.

The asking price is $22,800
