This four-wheel drive 1985 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser is finished in the classic tan color with the mostly original tan and brown cloth interior. At this writing it has only 191,578 miles on the odometer and is powered by a 4.2-liter 2F inline 6-cylinder engine mated to an H55 5-speed transmission and two speed transfer case. Equipment includes manually locking front hubs, air conditioning, 31” BFGoodrich KO2 tires, newer Bluetooth radio and more. This Cruiser was purchased by the current owner/seller in March, 2016. According to the clean Carfax report they are the third owners since it was originally sold brand new on January 21, 1986 and it has always lived in West Texas.
When purchased in 2016 this FJ60 was in good original condition but in need of a refresh in some areas. Over the years it was a daily driver while working on items that needed attention. Every effort was made to use OEM Toyota parts when available. All service records are available for inspection but some of the highlights of the work done over the years include re-arching the leaf springs to level stance, full paint job (same color), change transmission to OEM H55 5-speed transmission, rebuild transfer case, rebuild rear axles and install Auburn Pro series limited slip differential, professionally desmog engine, updated ignition system for reliability and serviceability (new OEM parts no longer available) using Non-US OEM distributor and vacuum advance with modern Pertronix ignition parts, replaced carburetor with Jim C Aisin carburetor for smooth throttle response. Most major mechanical work was done at a professional vintage Land Cruiser shop.
This Land Cruiser is in way above average condition but does have a minor engine oil leak at the front main seal and minor steering fluid leak at the gear box.
These days this Cruiser is no longer a daily driver and spends most of its time housed in a garage out of the sunlight and weather. It runs and drives great but is just too nice to drive every day.
