From the Patina Collective selection available now, this amazing Bullet Proof 500SEL Guard.
In the 1980’s Mercedes-Benz offered the factory option of armoring to their VIP and selected clientele that needed an added layer of protection. This French delivery market armored sedan finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over gray velour, spent its first years transporting a VIP in Paris. Subsequently and with the fall of the iron curtain, it found its way to Moscow where the armoring features where in demand. Later on this car made its way to Canada and finally to Florida.
Condition is extremely good, no apparent rust, and the Lapis paint shows extraordinarily under the sunlight. Gray cladding is in very good condition as well as the factory wheels all around. MB Factory supplied armored glass is in outstanding condition for the age, showing only minor delamination of the outer layer.
Interior provides an amazing time capsule into the year of the car delivery. Gray velour is excellent, and the privacy curtains are all complete. Carpeting and oversized trims for the steel plating are intact. Window regulators work and allow the glass to come down half way in case you need to go to the drive through.
Engine and transmission and in excellent condition and move this 4-ton panzer on the expressway without problems. A factory Webasto supplement heater, will keep things in check in frigid climates.
Car comes with the oversized 4-ton jack, a clean Carfax, and a clean Florida title.
