We are pleased to offer 1985 US model 308 GTS QV s/n 58611, a very late (June, 1985) production QV and indeed the highest serial number of any model 308 that we have ever sold and so one of the very last 308s ever built! As any Ferrari aficionado knows Ferrari (and indeed most of Italy) shuts down in late July for Ferragosto, the national vacation month of August. When Ferrari re-opened for business in September of 1985 the production line had switched to the then-new 328 GTB and GTS. As the last evolution of the 308 Series, the 308’s quattrovalvole engine (literally meaning “four valves” in Italian) pushed the engine power up to 240 hp. Cosmetically the QV featured a slim louvered panel in the front lid to aid radiator exhaust cooling, power operated mirrors, and an updated interior. Thanks to the improved horsepower and the easy-to-shift gearbox, the quattrovalvole’s offer a wonderful driving experience. The gearbox syncros work smoothly, the clutch is light to use but grips quickly and the QV’s can be thrown into corners with total ease and confidence, due to the great handling characteristics. Performance through the RPM range is excellent and a thrill, when fully serviced, thanks to the smooth power and torque curve of the final evolution of the 308 engine.
The first few years of ownership are unknown but as per the Carfax 308 GTS QV s/n 58611 lived in New Jersey and was serviced by Ferrari Philadelphia from 1993 to 2015 before moving to California and to the most recent owner on 21 Dec., 2016. 308 GTS QV s/n 58611 comes with a loose leaf binder filled with service and parts docs showing multiple parts purchases from GT Car Parts in Phoenix and service docs that show that s/n 58611 was serviced by Specialized Porsche in Riverside in 2017, by Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa in 2018 and with additional service work by GTO Engineering in 2019. Most recently s/n 58611 was serviced just last month by Bobileff Motorcars in San Diego. The cam belts were changed, the cold start idle was serviced, bench tested and reinstalled and the coolant hose under the air intake plenum was replaced. The total invoice for parts and labor was $3,221.75. Copy on file, call or e-mail for a copy.
The body and paint seem to be are all original and in very good condition, for a forty year old car, with no evidence of accident or rust repairs to the body, underside, or the chassis although there has been some paintwork to the passengers side door near the door handle and there is a slight crease in the hood caused by someone trying to close the hood. All panels have excellent gaps and fit. The trim, gaskets, window glass and lenses are also in excellent condition. The leather on the seats, console and inner door panels is in excellent near-new condition and the seats, console and door inner panels have all been correctly reupholstered at some time. The dash covering is also in excellent condition. The carpets have been protected by throw rugs and are also in excellent condition. 308 GTS QV s/n 58611 is mounted on 16 x 7 front and 16 x 8 rear Ferrari Speedline wheels fitted with 205/55VR16 Hankook Ventus V2 front and 245/45 VR16 Hankook Ventus V2 rear tires which show as new but are past their date code.
308 GTS QV s/n 58611 comes with a loose leaf binder filled with service and parts docs including last months cam belts service. 308 GTS QV s/n 58611 also comes with an original owner manual, the Factory tools and tool roll and the Factory jack bag and jack kit. While technically California smog legal, s/n 58611 is not for sale in California because of California’s punitive smog laws. A great looking, great sounding, great driving, user-friendly 1985 USA model 308 GTS QV that will not disappoint. Fly in for an impressive test drive or watch our driving video. 76,899 original miles. Thanks to the just-completed service work 308 GTS QV s/n 58611 is priced to sell at $69,950 or best offer.
