This Toyota Land Cruiser began life as a stock FJ43 in 1982 and was given new life as a full custom build in 2020 by The FJ Company, transforming it into their G43 Heritage model using all new and modern mechanical components. The truck s custom powerplant is a Toyota 4.0L V6 1GR-FE that sends power to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The exterior is painted Cadet Blue, and the interior is fitted with brown leather upholstery. This highly custom build features modern front coil spring suspension, auto locking hubs, electronic vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS, and a Borla muffler. The exterior was given custom 16-inch wheels, a retro-styled grille, custom mirrors and bumpers, as well as fog lights and a Warn 8274 winch. The interior is updated with Vintage Air HVAC, Recaro seats, retractable shoulder belts, backup camera, and a Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth. Practical and tasteful updates inside and out provide classic styling with all the modern comforts one could hope for. This truck has 5,807km (3,608 miles) since its customization, but the total mileage of the vehicle is unknown. The vehicle is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The third-party inspection and photos represent this G43 Heritage build well. The vehicle was involved in an accident in 2021 when it rolled over on the driver s side during an offroad excursion by the current owner. Canepa of Scotts Valley, CA performed the necessary repairs and The FJ Company provided an entirely new body. A detailed post-accident inspection was performed by Canepa and is available. The work was completed by 2022 and the results are documented in the photo library and the available inspection.
This custom FJ43 is being sold through a CLASSIC.COM Pro and is located in Las Vegas, Nevada.
About the model
The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 is a variant of the 40 Series. With a slightly longer wheel-base than the FJ40, the FJ43 was produced for a limited number of markets around the world until 1984. Like the FJ40, it was available with the 3.9 liter Toyota F Engine (105hp to 125hp) until 1974 (pre-facelift) and upgraded to the 4.2 liter Toyota 2F Engine (135hp) from 1975 until the end of production (post-facelift). Because of its more limited production and larger cabin configuration, its become closely followed by collectors and enthusiasts alike. Professionally restored samples have reached some of the highest price points in the entire Land Cruiser market. Prospective buyers should be mindful of the wide-ranging quality and drivability of samples in this market.
