This restored and highly modified 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is the finished product from The FJ Company. The SUV is powered by a custom-swapped 4.5 liter Toyota 1FZ-FE engine featuring Haltech fuel injection. The company finished the truck in Freeborn Red with Saddle vinyl upholstery stretched over Corbeau Sport seats. Nicknamed Callie by the FJ Company, the truck was also given a raft of upgrades both inside and out. The suspension was built with Old Man Emu components, and The FJ Companys Advanced power steering unit was installed, as were front disc brakes. The exterior is outfitted with a removable soft-top, LED headlights, and PIAA fog lights. Amenities included modern sound courtesy of RetroSound with Bluetooth, Vintage Air HVAC, and digital instrumentation. The digital odometer shows 3,608 miles since the restoration was completed; the vehicle's total mileage is unknown. The current owner was the first to take ownership after the build was complete. It is currently located in Erie, PA 16505
This great example of an FJ Company build was photographed and inspected by a third party to document the current condition. In addition, photos are available from the meticulous build that was performed in 2017. The inspection shows the SUV to be in good condition inside and out, with all systems and features functioning as they should. The paint and leather upholstery are in good condition; both reflect the low mileage of the vehicle. A test drive was performed, and found that the truck runs and drives as intended. Included in the sale of the vehicle are original FJ Company literature & tool kit along with service records from the current owner.
This FJ40 is being being sold as Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM by Guillermo.
About the model
The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 is the primary variant of the 40 Series, produced for model years 1961 to 1984 in Japan, and until 1985 in Venezuela. The FJ40 is the model that made Toyota a household name. Today, its a classic 4x4 thats a favorite to off-road enthusiasts and collectors alike, competing head-to-head collectability against the Land Rover Series models, the Defender, Ford Bronco, and the International Scout. Featuring the gas-powered Toyota F engine until 1974 (pre-facelift), and the Toyota 2F engine until 1985 (post-facelift), the model received only minor body and mechanical modifications along its years of production. Notably, US-spec models, which were sold until 1983, received some additional features and characteristics that make them more appealing than vehicles destined for other markets.
