Morris Brothers Collectibles is Proud to present this beautiful 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo with a factory 4 speed transmission. This example came to us from it's previous owner in Chicago and underwent extensive maintenance here at Morris Brothers to revive it to it's original glory. Upgraded turbo and wastegate spring allows this car to exceed the factory .75 bar to a full 1 bar. A fully rebuilt transmission was fitted within the last 100 miles along with rebuilt and refinished brakes at all four corners. This 930 also received a new clutch, turbo scavenge pump, battery, oil cooler cover, fresh air fan, A/C compressor and hoses and brake hoses.
This vehicle has seen plenty of tarmac over the last 148,100 miles and our goal was to make this car feel like it just drove off the showroom floor. Factory fuches wheels with black centers are wrapped in brand new hankook tires measuring 205/55/16 up front and a meatier 245/55/16 in the back. A new windshield and seals have been fitted allowing for unobstructed vision to the road ahead. A new front valance was also fitted in preparation for sale.
If you are looking for a 930 Turbo that will give you the confidence to add miles to the odometer, this is the one for you. Finished in iconic Silver Metallic over Black leather interior with a few minor paint defects, this car presents very well in this timeless combo.
Power is delivered by a 3.3L Turbo engine nicknamed "The Widowmaker" due to its violent power delivery when you hit the boost. At the time of it's release through 1984 the 930 was the fastest production car out of Germany only to be dethroned by the RUF BTR. The 930 found itself plastered to every teens bedroom wall throughout the 80's and 90's making multiple movie appearances and driven by high profile celebs and executives.
With a heavy stamp in automotive history, the Porsche 930 is a must have for any collector or air-cooled porsche enthusiast.
