Details
This 1965 Mercedes 300SE is a 5-seat, 2-door convertible with 15,360 miles shown on the odometer (total mileage is unknown). It is powered by a 3.0-liter fuel-injected inline 6-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission. This beautiful red example with matching red wheels wears a brown leather interior with burlwood trim.
Included third-party photos and inspection show a clean, well-cared-for car that has been beautifully restored. The paint shows only minor signs of wear, indicating some age on the restoration as well as minor cracks to the left headlight and missing passenger-side mirror. The interior is clean and shows minimal wear on the rear seat, carpets and a light stain on the headliner. Visually, the car presents well and indicates a high-quality professional restoration. The owner and inspection indicate that the engine starts and runs as designed, as does the convertible top. Other issues of lower priority in southern California are inoperable windshield wipers, horn and air conditioning. The interior lights are not fully functional. Included in the sale are one set of keys, aftermarket floor mats and car cover.
This car is being marketed by a CLASSIC.COM Pro on behalf of the seller in San Diego, CA.
About the model
Mercedes-Benz introduced their W112 cabriolet in 1962. Marketed as the 300SE Cabriolet, these cars were based on the W111, yet featured a more well-appointed interior, more standard options, and Mercedes' M189 3.0L inline 6 engine. In terms of design, the W112 cabriolet was based on the W111 220SE coupe/convertible, without the fintails. These 300SE cabriolets were the top of the line cabriolets offered by Mercedes during their production. Built until 1967, the 300SE Cabriolet saw just 708 examples produced.
