1962 MGA 1600 MK II Roadster
The current owner doesn't have a lot of info on the car other than he bought it from a dealer in Missouri and knows she had a complete, nut and bolt restoration about 5 years(+/-) before he purchased her.
In essence, this is like a brand new 1962 MGA 1600 MK II.
Painted in deep red over a tan leather interior.
Literally, every not and bolt was touched/refurbished or new.
In 1962 what you got was a a 1.6L (1600) inline 4 cylinder that ran twin SU carbs down through a basic exhaust. This one running just a single small muffler out back. The 4 cylinder burbles nicely when under acceleration. The 4 cylinder is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission out to a leaf sprung rear axle. All of the above rebuilt or new.
Lever shocks front and rear keep the beautiful chrome wire wheels, shod in Vredstein Classic Sports tires in contact with the ground and disc brakes up front and drums in back bring her to a halt.
In the interior, all the gauges work as they should, although the auxiliary/2nd temp gauge isn't hooked up, the main one works. The signal switch has a beeper built in so one knows that the blinker light is still on and to shut it off. Headlights and running lights all work as do the brake lights. Heater fan moves the air just like a good English car would. The odometer shows 98000 miles but it is figured that less than 5000 are on it since the restoration.
The tan leather upholstery is in tip top shape.
Slide in behind the wheel, apply a little choke, turn the key, tap the gas and hit the started button and she fires right up. She quickly settles into a smooth, burbly idle and is then ready to go.
With the rack and pinion steering, all new shocks, spring and bushings, she drives and handles like a brand new 62 MGA, maybe better.
This car is absolutely ready to go and needs nothing.
This car is a great driver and can be taken to local and regional shows and cars and coffee events with pride and will very probably take home awards.
This one may be one of the better ones in the US at this point.
Totally turn key.
Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for the interest!
