This custom-built 1962 International Scout 80 is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 LS motor and backed by a 6-speed automatic transmission with a Lokar shifter that powers the four-wheel drive system. The custom build includes a fresh coat of dark red metallic paint and custom beige leather upholstery. This Scout wears many modifications, including Dana 44 front and rear axles, a 4-inch suspension lift, four-wheel disc brakes, and an aluminum fuel cell. The exterior was given custom bumpers that secure a Smittybilt winch on the front. LED lights give this off-road vehicle modern lighting, and a custom front grille and roll cage make the truck stand out from other Scouts. In addition to the leather upholstery, the interior has a custom dash with digital gauges and an Alpine stereo. A custom tilt steering wheel was fitted for easy ingress and egress. The truck sits on 35 Cooper SST tires mounted on Method Race wheels. The digital odometer shows 350 miles, but the total mileage is unknown. It is located in Sperry, Oklahoma.

This Scout 80 was inspected and photographed by a third party and was given high marks. The inspection revealed only a minor ding on the hood and a light scratch below the gas cap. The exterior shows as one would expect from such a low-mileage custom build. The upholstery is still in good condition, as seen in the photos. The inspection does report a minor chip on the inside of the drivers door panel. Mechanically, this Scout is sound, and the LS motor runs and drives as it should, and the four-wheel disc brake upgrade handles stopping as expected. Overall, this truck reflects a meticulous restoration that was completed by the previous owner. This sale includes a photo album of the restoration and two keys.

About the model

International Harvester Scout 80's were built between 1960 and 1965. These models were identifiable by removable sliding side windows in 19601961 and even some very early 1962 models, a fold-down windshield, vacuum windshield wipers mounted to the top of the windshield, and an IH logo in the center of the grille. The Scout 80 had the gasoline-powered 152 four-cylinder as its standard engine. The Scout 800 replaced the Scout 80 in late 1965.
