This sleek beauty was built in the '70s, sold in the ’80s, located and repurchased in 2019. She's a one-of-a-kind, chopped, lowered, and shaved masterpiece!!!
1955 marked a major inflection point for Ford Motor Company. Across all passenger car lines, Ford revised the style of its cars both inside and out. On the exterior, new Fords sat lower, were slightly longer, and appeared flatter than the previous generation. Significant in the passenger car line was the introduction of the Fairlane. The name "Fairlane" came from the Ford Family's esteemed "Fair Lane" estate. Interiors were also revamped in 1955 and 1956 Fords, including new instrument panel styling that sat below the backlit speedometer and was carried forward from the previous year's models. On the outside, the new Fairlane also featured new chrome-trimmed hooded "eyebrow" headlights, a new convex grille with round driving lights, and tons of new elevated trim, including the iconic V-shaped side trim that ran the entire length of the car at the belt line giving '55 and ‘56 Fords a nice visual break. All of these style changes to the 1955 Fords helped Ford sell more vehicles in 1955 than the previous year, especially its high-end model, with the '55 Fairlane outselling the '54 Crestline by nearly 400,000 units.
Under the hood of this '56 Ford is a Thunderbird 429 V8 engine paired with an upgraded Edelbrock single 4-barrel carburetor. Exhaust exits the V8 via a Magnaflow dual exhaust setup that gives this 1956 Fairlane Victoria a nice throaty sound along with the custom Lake Pipes with open/close toggle mounted under the dash. Another toggle switch mounted under the dash operates the engine cooling fan, a useful addition when idling in traffic for several minutes. A third toggle switch is located under the dash, to the left of the steering wheel, and operates the fuel pump, making starting a cold car a breeze. Added to these switches is a hydraulic rear-end lift system operated by a gauge and switch mounted under the dash. A battery kill switch has also been installed in the trunk.
The tires have been upgraded to wide whitewall radials, which maintain the classic look of this '56 Victoria while improving the ride going down the road. A pair of chrome outside mirrors are welcome additions, helping you maneuver in and out of tight spaces wherever you may be. With color-matched fender skirts, this 1956 Ford Victoria has that classic ‘50s look. The sleek look of shaved door handles and trunk makes this uniquely lowered and chopped (5.5”) beauty with a custom louvered hood a one-of-a-kind gem!
The upgraded Rack & Pinion Steering, front disk brakes with dual master cylinder, added Air Conditioning, and four-on-the-floor top loader transmission make this an amazing car that is as fun to drive as it is to show off. There’s hardly a stop for the required premium 91 octane fuel that doesn’t receive a compliment or picture taken by someone driving by or pumping gas.
The exterior of this 1956 Fairlane Victoria has been refinished in an eye-catching two-tone paint scheme consisting of bright white over bright red, which completes the outstanding exterior look of the car. The interior of this '56 Fairlane Victoria is beautiful also! The front and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in Red and White Vinyl with eye-catching red accent piping. The door panels maintain the red-and-white period look and match the overall stock look of the car. The dash has an upgraded instrument panel with a 120 MPH speedometer with a tachometer, oil, temperature, voltage, and fuel gauges. An AM/FM radio, clock, and temperature controls are also correctly mounted in the center of the dash.
Whether you're looking to buy your first classic car or adding to an existing collection, this 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria will make a wonderful strategic choice.
