About this 1941 Cadillac Sixty Special

VIN: 66418061

This Cadillac came to Connecticut from the Seattle area around 10 years ago. The owner in Connecticut was also into Ford model T’s and decided after a couple years that he wanted to focus on his Model T’s and decided to sell the Cadillac. The current owner decided to purchase the car to use her as a wedding car chauffeuring around brides, brides to be and their families. The car was running a little rough so the owner brought it to a local one man shop, known for his expertise on pre-war cars and he found there to be head and coolant issues, which he fixed and had the car running great in just a few days.

The couple used the car for weddings for a year and then the insurance rates increased for commercial enterprise involving driving people around, so the decision has been made to sell her.

With coachwork by Fleetwood reserved exclusively for Cadillac and Classic Car Club of America Full Classic status, this 1941 Series 60 Special Fleetwood is a motorcar without compromise. The range-topping sedan underwent a comprehensive restoration with meticulous attention to detail from its Flying Goddess mascot to bumper guards for a return to its original unparalleled level of performance and luxury. Originally Monica Blue, the elegant burgundy paint truly complements the unique 60 Special design with front fenders that extend onto the doors and rear fenders outfitted with stone shields and wheel skirts. Exclusive rocker panel brightwork flows from the front fender out to the rear bumpers and emphasizes sleek lines. The famously quiet Cadillac V-8 is mated to a 3-speed synchromesh manual transmission. Knee-action coil-spring independent front suspension and live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs work in concert with 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes for ride and road control expected of a Cadillac. Livingroom comfort and luxury wait in the cream upholstered interior outfitted with genuine walnut and leather trim. Generous glass allows for scenic vistas from the deep-cushioned seating. The Cadillac 60 Series Special rides on wide whitewall tires and steel wheels dressed with chrome hubcaps and trim rings. The spacious trunk is equipped with an upright spare.

The the large flat head V8 (346 CI and putting out roughly 150HP -280 lb ft) starts right up and settles into a smooth idle. The 91,677 miles on the odometer is not indicative of the actual mileage on her since her restoration. The clutch grabs easily and she moves right along, the 3 speed manual on the column, shifting easily. 4 wheel hydraulic, drum brakes stop her well.

The lights, horn and wipers work as they should, the heater is an open flow design, controlled by opening the doors on the under dash mounted unit. This works correctly as well. The radio and the clock do not function. The rest of the cloth interior looks nearly like it did days after the restoration, it is in awesome condition. The wood trim on the door tops is lightly worn. The windows all crank down or open as they should, there is some minor delamination on a couple pieces of glass and on the gauge cluster.

Under the car is just as tidy with most of the painted frame still looking like it did from when she was fully restored. There are a few areas where the paint has flaked and/or there is some minor surface corrosion.

Under the hood is also clean and the engine shows no current leaks, while the trunk appears brand new.

Overall, this car would probably take home a trophy at a local car show, that would be a little more difficult at an AACA concours.

Looks beautiful, is as comfortable as your living room and almost as big, runs and drives great. In essence, turn key enjoyment if you're looking for a classic cruiser or even if you have similar ideas of commercial success as a wedding car service.

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person or to simply make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest.
