About this 1931 Ford Model A

VIN: A4111546

1931 Ford Model A 2 door Phaeton

We only have some recent history on this car.

It was purchased just a few years ago down at Carlisle from a fellow from OH who had fully restored the car about 25 years ago. The OH owner took her out to shows throughout the central states (OH, IN, PA, etc) and won a LOT of ribbons/trophies with her. She was awarded the Model A Restorers Club Marque of Excellence. A CT chap bought her brought her here to CT, where the car stayed in his collection for a few years, in a garage, but was hardly driven. Started and moved but nowhere near the traveling the OH owner did.

Just a few months ago, he sold the car to her current owner and now, with what could be argued as too many cars in HIS collection, he's decided to move her on ... to make room for more cars of course. The current owner has quite a few A's and early Fords, so this one was chosen to leave the nest.

In the restoration, everything was touched. The body pulled and gone through, straightened, and repainted in dark green and black. The reportedly original 4 cylinder engine was also pulled, rebuilt and reinstalled in the original frame, which was also cleaned and painted. The odometer shows 10,152 miles.

The interior - same thing. All upholstered bits done in a very nice tan/brown naugahyde, new carpets, new floors.

She is also rather nicely appointed with a bunch of Model A options.

She has the AAH-OOGA horn, engraved wind wings, cowl lights, grill guard, twin, stainless spare tire covers, twin spare tires, the flying goose radiator cap, the wooden luggage rack AND the trunk.

She does not have the side curtains.

Hop in, adjust the timing, turn the key (It still has the correct pop out key button) and she fires right up and settles very quickly into a smooth idle. Adjust idle and timing and away she goes. Clutch grabs well, she drives along like only a Model A does and her rod actuated brakes stop her just as they should. All the lights work, the horn works and the wiper.

There is no rust/rot anywhere on the body or frame and as a matter of fact, there are hardly any blemishes what so ever. She was driven quite a bit by the OH owner, so there are a couple of small, touched up spots in the paint - one on the right upper cowl, two on the driver running board and one on the passenger running board. Other than that, near perfect.

The top was also replaced during the restoration, unfortunately, there is some very minor staining on the right rear and a couple of spots on the main section of the top.

These may be removable with a quality cloth stain remover and a little elbow grease.

This Model Phaeton is arguably one the better ones currently on the market.

She has a great stance, the white letter Firestones give her an almost aggressive look, sort of like a hot rod. The apple green wheels match the pinstripe.

This car can still be taken out to shows and win and can also be driven confidently.

Absolutely turn key.

The asking price is in line with a car that stands out as one of the better ones on offer in the country.

Any questions, for several hundred additional photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person, or to simply make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest!
